Child Safety & Member Protection

Glen Waverley Tennis Club is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children at the club.

The Club does not tolerate any form of abuse, neglect, harassment, unlawful discrimination, vilification, victimisation, indecency or violence against any adult or child by any person and such conduct is a breach of the Tennis Australia Member Protection Policy (Policy).

The Tennis Australia Member Protection Policy has been developed as part of Tennis Australia’s ongoing commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of its members and participants.

Member Protection is all about the practices and procedures which protect our members including players, parents, coaches and officials.

The Member Protection Policy is binding on all State associations and their affiliated clubs (such as us).

The Club adheres to the Tennis Australia Member Protection Policy and its own Code of Conduct. Both these documents may be found under the Governance section of the website.

Our Member Protection Information Officer is Christopher Young.

The Member Protection Information Officer is the first point of contact for any enquiries or complaints associated with harassment, abuse and other alleged breaches of the Policy.

Any person who considers that they have been the subject of abuse, neglect, harassment, unlawful discrimination, vilification, victimisation, indecency or violence should make a complaint to the MPIO.

Chris may be contacted on 0407 845 225 or by email – memberprotection@glenwaverleytennis.com.au

Got it — here’s the text from this second screenshot, cleaned up and ready for you to paste back into Squarespace:

The role of the MPIO is to:

  • Listen and act as a sounding board,

  • Clarify basic points and concerns,

  • Refer to the Tennis Australia Safeguarding Children Code of Conduct and explain what constitutes inappropriate behavior,

  • Explain the complaint process and options available under the Tennis Australia Member Protection Policy.

The club MPIO does not:

  • Advocate,

  • Intervene,

  • Take sides or judge,

  • Investigate, or

  • Give advice.

The MPIO is required under certain circumstances to report matters directly to Victoria Police and / or the Tennis Australia Integrity Unit.

If you’d like, I can also help you combine both screenshots into one properly formatted Child Safety page (headings + bullet lists + contact box) so it looks professional on your Governance section — just say 👍

ok

Great — here’s your complete Child Safety & Member Protection page, already structured so you can paste it straight into Squarespace and it will look clean and professional.
